A week after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) withdrew its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, actress and Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) President Poonam Dhillon revealed that the actor's father personally thanked her for supporting him during the controversy. The development signals a positive turn in a dispute that emerged following reports of Singh's exit from the upcoming film Don 3.
Speaking to Variety India, Dhillon welcomed FWICE's decision to revoke the directive, saying the organisation should not have taken such action against an actor of Singh's stature. She maintained that an actor has the right to make professional choices regarding projects and that such matters should be resolved between the actor and the producer. According to Dhillon, Singh has consistently demonstrated professionalism and commitment throughout his career.
The CINTAA president also highlighted Singh's longstanding association with Excel Entertainment, the production house behind films such as Gully Boy and Dil Dhadakne Do. She noted that the industry body extended support not only to Singh but also to actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, stressing that disputes within the industry should be resolved amicably rather than escalating into larger conflicts.

Dhillon disclosed that she had a detailed conversation with Singh's father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, after the issue began moving toward resolution. She said they remained in contact through WhatsApp and that he expressed gratitude for the support shown by CINTAA and members of the film fraternity. According to Dhillon, Bhavnani explained that the family had remained in touch with Excel Entertainment throughout the dispute and that there was no hostility toward the production house.
She further stated that Bhavnani spoke about the family's close relationship with Akhtar and the wider Excel team. While the family was reportedly unhappy with the manner in which FWICE handled the matter, Dhillon said they preferred to address the issue directly and did not seek formal intervention from CINTAA. She added that when she offered assistance, Bhavnani indicated that discussions were already underway to resolve the situation.
The controversy emerged after reports suggested Singh had exited Don 3, prompting claims that Excel Entertainment was seeking compensation of ₹45 crore for alleged pre-production losses. The dispute subsequently led to a non-cooperation notice from FWICE. With the directive now withdrawn and communication continuing between the parties involved, the matter appears to be moving toward an amicable resolution, easing concerns over one of Bollywood's most talked-about industry disputes in recent weeks.
