Holi, celebrated as the ‘Festival of Colours,’ marks the arrival of spring and the harvest season. Rooted in Hindu mythology, the festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil. Celebrations begin with Holika Dahan, the ritual of lighting a bonfire, followed by the more widely observed festivities of playing with coloured powders and water.
This year, Holi is being observed on two separate days across India. Several states in Western India, including Maharashtra and Gujarat, began festivities on Tuesday, March 3, while North India will mark its main celebrations on Wednesday, March 4.
The event hosted by Azmi and Akhtar highlighted the spirit of togetherness and joy, bringing together Bollywood talent to celebrate tradition, friendship, and the colourful vibrancy of the season.
