Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has crossed ₹24 crore in advance bookings ahead of its August 26 theatrical release, signalling strong demand for the action thriller. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film has sold 6,48,511 tickets across 14,270 shows in India, generating ₹24.51 crore in gross advance bookings, including block seats.
The film's advance booking opened across India on August 21, with Karnataka and the Hindi market emerging as the biggest contributors. The Hindi 2D version has reportedly collected ₹11.21 crore, while the Kannada 2D version has recorded ₹10.99 crore. Premium formats have added further revenue, with Kannada IMAX 2D contributing more than ₹71 lakh and Hindi IMAX 2D bringing in nearly ₹29 lakh.
The strong demand has also led theatres to expand show timings in several markets. Mumbai has seen screenings scheduled as early as 6 am, while some theatres are running shows late into the night, including screenings at 11:45 pm and 11:59 pm. Ticket prices have also risen at some premium properties, with the most expensive tickets in parts of Mumbai and Bengaluru reportedly priced at around ₹2,250.

At a pre-release event on Saturday, Yash addressed criticism surrounding the portrayal of women in the film's trailer. Yash argued that the film would present women with stronger voices and allow its female characters to express their thoughts, ambitions and perspectives. Yash also encouraged women to watch the film in theatres, saying the story would offer a different impression from what some viewers may have taken from the trailer.
Toxic marks Yash's return to the big screen following his previous major successes and features the actor in a dual role as Raya and Ticket. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has an ensemble cast that includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth. The action thriller is preparing for a large worldwide theatrical release.
The film is expected to release across around 12,000 screens worldwide, adding to the scale of its opening. With advance bookings already crossing ₹24 crore before release, Toxic is heading into August 26 with substantial pre-release demand, particularly in Karnataka and the Hindi-speaking markets. Its opening-day performance will determine whether the strong advance sales translate into a major theatrical start.
