Veteran actor Shabana Azmi has appealed to environmentalist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk to end his indefinite hunger strike, expressing concern over his deteriorating health while reaffirming her support for his campaign. While expressing admiration for his determination, she appealed to him to end the hunger strike, saying the larger struggle must continue beyond the present protest, writing, "Ladai aage tak ladni hai."
The appeal comes a day after several prominent personalities, including Zeenat Aman, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and actor Omi Vaidya, voiced their support for Wangchuk's ongoing protest. On Tuesday, more members of the entertainment industry joined the campaign, including actors Soni Razdan, Abhay Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary and television actor Rubina Dilaik.
