Actor Salman Khan has reportedly launched a multi-phase relief initiative to assist people affected by the ongoing floods in Assam. According to a report, the actor has coordinated with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam and his charitable organisation, Being Human, to provide food, essential supplies and long-term rehabilitation support to families impacted by the floods. The initiative comes as several parts of the state continue to face widespread flooding and humanitarian challenges.

As part of the first phase of the relief operation, Being Human and SKFC Assam have begun distributing ready-to-eat food packets to affected families, with supplies being dispatched from Guwahati to flood-hit areas, including Sivasagar. Each relief packet reportedly contains biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese and jam, providing enough food to sustain a family for approximately three days. Volunteers are also distributing drinking water, water-purification tablets, sanitary pads and mosquito coils to help meet immediate health and hygiene needs.

According to the report, Salman Khan personally coordinated with members of the Assam fan club to organise the phased relief effort. A source quoted in the report said the actor's priority is to ensure that affected families receive essential supplies until conditions improve. The initiative aims to provide immediate assistance while laying the groundwork for longer-term rehabilitation in flood-affected communities.

The second phase of the relief programme is expected to begin next week and will focus on distributing ration kits and medicines to people in need. In the final phase, Being Human reportedly plans to support the reconstruction of schools and hospitals that have suffered extensive damage due to the floods. The phased approach is intended to address both immediate humanitarian requirements and longer-term recovery efforts.

Separately, Salman Khan has also been among the prominent Bollywood personalities commenting on recent student protests over alleged examination irregularities. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public assurance regarding action on the issue, the actor appealed to students to return home and urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his fast, expressing confidence that the government would take appropriate action against those responsible if wrongdoing was established.

The reported flood relief initiative comes as various organisations, celebrities and volunteers continue to extend support to flood-affected communities across Assam. Recently, Assamese singer Papon, along with musicians Vishal Dadlani, Divya Kumar and Nilotpal Bora, participated in a live charity concert to encourage donations for ongoing relief operations. Together, these efforts aim to provide immediate assistance while supporting the state's longer-term recovery from the devastating floods.
