Saif Ali Khan recently shared his son Taimur’s brutally honest reaction after watching ‘Adipurush’, a mythological film in which Saif plays the antagonist Lankesh. In a candid interview with his ‘Jewel Thief’ co-star Jaideep Ahlawat for Netflix India, Saif revealed that the nine-year-old wasn’t too pleased with the film.
“I just showed him ‘Adipurush’ recently. Then, after some time, he started giving me a look. So I said, ‘Yeah, sorry.’ He said, ‘It’s okay.’ He forgave me,” Saif said, laughing.
Adipurush, which also starred Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, was promoted as a modern retelling of the Ramayana but faced harsh criticism for its subpar VFX, uninspired writing, and underwhelming execution. Despite its big budget and hype, the film was a box office disappointment.

When asked if his children, Taimur and Jeh, understand that their parents are Bollywood stars, Saif said he wasn’t entirely sure. He shared a heartwarming story about Taimur’s stage fright during a school play.
“He said, ‘Mujhe bohot darr lagta hai Abba. Logon ke saamne mujhe dialogue nahi bolne hai.’ (I get very scared, Abba. I can’t speak lines in front of people.) Someone told him, ‘But you’re so great, you remember so many lines.’ I think he’s just used to it, growing up around us,” Saif said. “I hope he realizes we’re pretty down to earth. It’s a lovely job, but you shouldn’t take yourself too seriously.”
Saif’s latest film ‘Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins’, released on Netflix on April 25, has received lukewarm reviews, with critics calling it a forgettable heist drama.
