The announcement does not specify a city or region of origin for the release news itself; it only refers to Japan as the release market. Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar is set to release in Japan on July 10, 2026, as part of its expanding international rollout. The announcement was made by Jio Studios, which also unveiled a new promotional poster titled “Operation Dhurandhar.” The move marks a strategic push to introduce the film to a wider Asian audience following its strong global box office performance.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy-action film has already built significant momentum in India and overseas markets. Known for its high-intensity storytelling and large-scale action sequences, the film has been among the top-performing Indian releases internationally. The Japan launch is seen as the next phase in extending its commercial and cultural reach beyond South Asian audiences.
The newly released poster features Ranveer in a stylised action avatar and has generated online attention for its presentation. The Japanese distributor TWIN Co., Ltd., which previously handled the release of films like RRR in Japan, will oversee distribution. The promotional material also references Ranveer’s earlier film Gully Boy and Sanjay Dutt’s association with K.G.F: Chapter 2, likely aimed at familiarising Japanese audiences with the actors.

A short Japanese trailer has also been released, further building anticipation ahead of the film’s debut in the market. Online reactions have been mixed, with some viewers optimistic about its performance and others cautious about its commercial potential in Japan, though several users pointed to growing local interest in Indian cinema.
On the global front, Dhurandhar has reportedly grossed over ₹1,300 crore worldwide, including more than ₹1,000 crore in India. Its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, is currently running in theatres, adding further momentum to the franchise’s overall box office success.
