Pinkie Roshan, mother of Hrithik Roshan, has shared a deeply moving tribute to her late friend Zarine Khan—mother of Sussanne Khan—days after Zarine passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 81. In an emotional Instagram post, Pinkie reflected on the rare and enduring bond the two mothers forged, one that grew even stronger after Hrithik and Sussanne’s divorce in 2014.

“A friendship very rare. A very precious relationship,” Pinkie wrote alongside a throwback photograph of the two women beaming together. She recalled the joy when their children’s romance turned them into “mother of the bride and mother of the groom”, only for destiny to take a different turn. “Our children grew apart and whilst facing their toughest phase we as mothers chose empathy and compassion over bitterness and hatred… we got even closer as we consoled each other with tears in our eyes, hugged each other, comforted each other… and we found our bond getting stronger and our friendship more secure than ever.”

In a second post, Pinkie described Zarine as “therapy” in human form: “In today’s world where we all need therapy counselling, anyone who knew Zar… she was therapy.” The tribute struck a chord across Bollywood, with fans and celebrities praising the maturity and grace both families have shown since the 2014 separation.

Hrithik and Sussanne, who were married for 14 years and share sons Hrehaan (19) and Hridaan (17), have long been admired for their amicable co-parenting and continued closeness with each other’s families. Zarine’s prayer meet last week was attended by Hrithik, his partner Saba Azad, father Rakesh Roshan, uncle Rajesh Roshan, and many others, while Sussanne was seen visibly emotional throughout.

Zarine Khan is survived by husband Sanjay Khan, daughters Sussanne, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora, and son Zayed Khan.
