Mary D’Costa, a choreographer, is at the center of social media rumors linked to the postponement of Cricketer Smriti Mandhana and Composer Palash Muchhal’s wedding. She has come forward to deny any involvement, clarifying that she never met Palash Muchhal. She revealed that the viral screenshots of chats between them are from April to May 2025 and that their contact lasted only for about a month. She refuted claims that she is the choreographer of the wedding or the reason behind the delay.
Following the viral spread of private chats allegedly between D’Costa and Palash Muchhal, she began receiving an onslaught of online harassment, including rape threats, racial slurs, and misogynistic abuse from anonymous accounts. She shared these hateful messages on Instagram, expressing shock at the level of hostility directed towards her and emphasizing that she is not involved in the wedding controversy.
The wedding of Mandhana and Muchhal, originally set for November 23, 2025, in Sangli, Maharashtra, was postponed due to Smriti Mandhana’s father’s deteriorating health and subsequent hospitalization. Shortly after, Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to exhaustion. The official reason for the postponement has been health-related, but various unverified theories and rumors circulated online, fueling speculations about infidelity and involvement of a third party.
