Actor Corey Parker has died at the age of 60 after battling cancer, according to his family. Parker passed away on Thursday in Memphis, though the exact type of cancer has not been publicly disclosed.
The news was confirmed by Parker’s aunt, Emily Parker, who spoke to TMZ about the actor’s passing following a prolonged illness. In a tribute shared online, BGB Studios, an acting school where Parker was involved, remembered him fondly. The message included words shared by his sister, Noelle, saying she believed he “left this world weightless, at peace and surrounded by love.”
Parker began his acting career in the mid-1980s and gained early recognition for his role as Pete in the horror film Friday the 13th: Part V – A New Beginning. He also appeared in the romantic drama 9½ Weeks, which starred Kim Basinger, marking one of his early film appearances during the decade.

In 1992, Parker landed a prominent television role in the sitcom Flying Blind. He played Neil Barash, a shy college graduate who begins a relationship with Alicia, portrayed by Tea Leoni. Although the series ran for only one season, it featured several notable actors including Lisa Kudrow, Peter Boyle, Andy Dick and Noah Emmerich.
Television audiences also remember Parker for his recurring role as Josh, one of Grace’s boyfriends, in the hit sitcom Will & Grace. He appeared in five episodes of the series and went on to feature in a number of other television and film projects, including Biloxi Blues, White Palace, Love Boat: The Next Wave, Nashville, and Blue Skies.
Later in his career, Parker transitioned into teaching and worked as an acting coach, mentoring performers involved in productions such as Sun Records and Ms Marvel. He came from a family with strong ties to the entertainment industry; his mother, actress Rocky Parker, died in 2014, and his sister Noelle is also an actor.
