Actor Janhvi Kapoor visited the revered Tirumala Venkateswara Temple on Friday to seek blessings from Lord Venkateswara as she celebrated her 29th birthday. Continuing a personal spiritual tradition, Janhvi undertook the pilgrimage on foot via the Alipiri route and arrived at Tirumala early in the morning. She later participated in a VIP break darshan at the temple, one of the most visited religious shrines in India, where she offered prayers and received blessings from temple priests.
Janhvi reportedly began her journey from the Alipiri Footpath, a sacred pathway used by devotees to reach the hill shrine. The route stretches approximately 11 kilometres and includes more than 3,500 steps, making it a significant spiritual undertaking for pilgrims who climb it as an act of devotion. Janhvi reached Tirumala on foot late Thursday night and stayed on the hill before attending the early morning darshan on Friday.
Following the darshan, Vedic scholars at the temple chanted sacred hymns and blessed Janhvi at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. Temple authorities also presented her with sacred teertha prasadam, a traditional offering given to devotees after prayers. Videos circulating on social media showed Janhvi participating quietly in the rituals while being surrounded by security personnel and temple staff.
A video that has since gone viral online captured Janhvi climbing the temple steps dressed in a simple white kurta while listening to music through earphones. She appeared to maintain a low profile during the pilgrimage, walking alongside security personnel and a few companions. Reports also indicated that Janhvi offered prayers at Alipiri before beginning the climb and was accompanied during the pilgrimage by veteran actress Maheshwari.
Janhvi is known to be a regular visitor to Tirumala and has often spoken about her strong faith in Lord Venkateswara. She frequently visits the temple on special occasions, including family milestones such as the birthday of her late mother Sridevi. Janhvi has also shared that she sometimes carries scripts of upcoming film projects to the temple before beginning work, believing that the deity’s blessings bring strength and success.
The actor had similarly visited Tirumala in previous years to mark her birthday. During a past visit, she was accompanied by rumoured partner Shikhar Pahariya and close friend Orry. On the professional front, Janhvi was most recently seen in the Dharma Productions film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and continues to remain active in Bollywood with several projects reportedly in development.
