A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and two associates at Bichhwal police station in Bikaner, Rajasthan, following allegations of fraud, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. The complaint, filed by Prateek Raj Mathur, a former line producer for Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, accuses the director and his team members, Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali, of breaching trust and engaging in misconduct.
According to Circle Officer (Bikaner Sadar) Vishal Jangid, Mathur claims he was contracted as a line producer for the film but was abruptly removed from the project without compensation. Mathur alleges he coordinated with government departments and made necessary arrangements for the shoot, only to face mistreatment from Bhansali and his team during a meeting at a hotel. The FIR was registered on Monday following a court order, and the investigation is being led by Bichhwal SHO Govind Singh Charan.
Love & War, described as an epic saga, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal and is slated for a theatrical release in 2026. The legal controversy surrounding Bhansali, a celebrated filmmaker known for grand cinematic productions, has sparked significant attention and raised questions about the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the project.
