Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light took home the Best Feature Film award at the 7th Critics Choice Awards, further cementing its critical acclaim. The film also earned Kapadia the Best Director award. Expressing her gratitude, she said, “This year has been filled with incredible films, and it means so much to be among such inspiring filmmakers. The awards hold a special place in my heart, as so many critics have been wonderfully supportive of All We Imagine As Light. Thank you for supporting our film every step of the way.”
Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh won Best Actor for his role in Amar Singh Chamkila. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated the award to the film and its director, Imtiaz Ali. “I dedicate this award to Amar Singh Chamkila and to Imtiaz sir, who brought this beautiful film to life. I just had the chance to be a part of it—this was entirely Imtiaz sir’s hard work. A big thank you to the entire cast and crew of the film.”
Darshana Rajendran was named Best Actress for Paradise, while Ravi Kishan won Best Supporting Actor for Laapataa Ladies, and Kani Kusruti won Best Supporting Actress for Girls Will Be Girls.
In the web series category, Poacher, directed by Richie Mehta, won Best Web Series, while lead actor Nimisha Sajayan secured Best Actress. Barun Sobti won Best Actor for Raat Jawaan Hai. Mehta reflected on the win, saying, “It’s an honour to have Poacher awarded by the critics, as it was a series made with immense love and passion to honour the guardians of all species, who themselves are never recognised.”
Other winners included Shivkumar V. Panicker (Best Editing, Kill), Anand Ekarshi (Best Writing, Aattam), and Ranabir Das (Best Cinematography, All We Imagine As Light).
