Renault India has officially confirmed the return of its cult-favorite Duster SUV, with the new-generation model set to make its grand debut on January 26, 2026—Republic Day. First launched in India in 2012, the Duster became a runaway success for its rugged appeal and value-for-money positioning before being discontinued. Now, as the first product under Renault’s International Game Plan 2025, the reborn Duster aims to reclaim its throne in the fiercely competitive mid-size SUV segment.
The new Duster will go head-to-head with heavyweights like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and the upcoming Tata Sierra (slated for launch on November 25, 2025). Spied multiple times on Indian roads, the SUV mirrors its global counterpart with a muscular, modern design—featuring Y-shaped LED headlights, a bull-bar-style grille, V-shaped LED tail lamps, thick cladding, roof rails, shark fin antenna, and a steeply raked windshield.
Inside and out, the Duster embraces a bold, upright stance with angular wheel arches, darkened B-pillars, traditional door handles, and side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The global model offers advanced powertrain options, including a 1.2L turbo-petrol mild-hybrid (128 hp), a 1.6L full-hybrid (138 hp) with dual electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, and a 1.0L petrol-LPG (98.6 hp) with AWD capability—hinting at a tech-loaded, efficient lineup for India.
