Mahindra has increased the prices of the Thar SUV by up to ₹37,000, marking the model's third price revision in 2026 after earlier hikes in January and April. The latest increase came into effect on July 10 and applies across the entire Thar lineup. Following the revision, the ex-showroom price of the Mahindra Thar now ranges from ₹10.32 lakh to ₹17.99 lakh. The company has also revised prices of several other models, including the Thar Roxx and XUV 3XO.
According to Mahindra, the latest price increase has been driven by rising commodity costs. Unlike previous revisions that affected select variants, the current hike applies to every version of the Thar. The extent of the increase varies depending on the engine option, transmission type and drivetrain configuration, resulting in different price adjustments across the model range.
The highest increase of ₹37,000 has been applied to the top-spec LXT 4WD 2.2-litre diesel automatic variant. The LXT 4WD petrol automatic has become costlier by ₹36,000, while the LXT 4WD 2.2-litre diesel manual has received a price hike of ₹34,000. Other four-wheel-drive variants have also witnessed substantial revisions, with the LXT 4WD petrol manual seeing its price rise by ₹33,000.

Among the lower variants, the entry-level AXT 2WD 1.5-litre diesel manual is now priced ₹32,500 higher than before. The LXT 2WD diesel manual has received a hike of ₹29,500, while the LXT 2WD petrol automatic has become costlier by ₹27,000. The revised pricing reflects the varying impact of the increase across different engine and drivetrain combinations.
The latest revision is part of a broader pricing update implemented by Mahindra across several models in its passenger vehicle portfolio. Automobile manufacturers have increasingly cited higher input costs, commodity price fluctuations and supply chain expenses as reasons for periodic price revisions. Such increases have become common across the Indian automotive industry over the past few years as manufacturers seek to offset rising production costs.
Despite the latest increase, the Mahindra Thar continues to remain one of the company's most popular lifestyle SUVs, known for its off-road capability and strong market demand. Prospective buyers will now have to factor in the revised prices while making purchase decisions, with the updated ex-showroom range extending from ₹10.32 lakh for the base variant to ₹17.99 lakh for the top-end version. The revised prices are effective immediately across Mahindra dealerships in India.
