Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has hit a sparkling milestone, selling over 1.1 million vehicles equipped with sunroofs in just five years. This achievement underscores a growing trend among Indian car buyers, who increasingly see sunroofs as a hallmark of luxury and style.
In the fiscal year 2024-25, an impressive 50% of Hyundai’s cars sold in India featured sunroofs, a trend that accelerated in the first half of 2025, with 54% of domestic sales from January to June boasting this sought-after feature. Hyundai’s focus on integrating premium features has clearly resonated with buyers seeking elevated driving experiences.
Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer at HMIL, celebrated this success, stating, “This milestone reflects the modern Indian customer’s desire for premium, aspirational mobility. At Hyundai, we’re committed to making cutting-edge global technologies accessible to more people. We’ll continue to shape the future of mobility with innovative, future-ready products.”

Hyundai leads the pack by offering sunroofs in 12 of its 14 models, making this feature available across diverse segments and price points. By localizing panoramic sunroof production, HMIL has driven down costs, bringing this premium feature within reach for a wider audience.
As Indian buyers’ preferences evolve toward value, comfort, and lifestyle-driven features, Hyundai remains dedicated to delivering innovative vehicles that meet these aspirations. With sunroofs becoming a must-have for many, Hyundai’s blend of technology and style continues to light up the Indian automotive market.
