Yamaha Motor India has announced significant price reductions for its middle-weight motorcycles, the Yamaha R3 and MT-03, following recent GST reforms targeting motorcycles with engine capacities below 350cc. Effective as of October 2025, the revised tax structure has enabled Yamaha to lower the ex-showroom prices of these models by up to Rs 20,000, enhancing affordability for enthusiasts of the supersport R3 and the naked MT-03.
This move comes on the heels of earlier price adjustments for Yamaha’s entry-level models, reflecting the company’s strategic response to evolving market dynamics.
The Yamaha R3, previously priced at Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom), now starts at Rs 3.39 lakh, a reduction of approximately Rs 20,000. Similarly, the MT-03, which was earlier retailing at Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom), is now available for Rs 3.29 lakh. These price cuts build on Yamaha’s earlier decision to reduce prices by up to Rs 1 lakh due to modest market demand, further positioning the R3 and MT-03 as compelling options in the competitive middle-weight segment.
