India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd (IYM), a leading two-wheeler manufacturer, announced price cuts of up to ₹17,581 across its models, effective September 22, 2025, to fully pass on the benefits of recent GST rate reductions to customers. The decision aligns with the Indian government’s revision of GST rates on two-wheelers, aimed at making vehicles more affordable and stimulating demand during the festive season.
Key models like the Yamaha R15 will see its price drop from ₹2,12,020 to ₹1,94,439, while the RayZR will be reduced by ₹7,759, from ₹93,760 to ₹86,001.
IYM’s move follows the government’s broader tax reform initiative, announced on September 4, 2025, which lowered GST rates on two-wheelers to enhance affordability. Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, welcomed the policy change, stating, “We thank the Government of India for the timely reduction in GST on two-wheelers.
This step will provide a strong boost to two-wheeler demand during the festive season.” Otani emphasized that the price reductions will directly benefit customers, drive consumption, and create positive momentum for the two-wheeler industry.
By passing on the full GST benefits, Yamaha aims to strengthen its market position and cater to cost-conscious consumers ahead of the festive period. The price cuts are expected to enhance accessibility to Yamaha’s popular models, reinforcing the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and industry growth.
This strategic move is poised to invigorate the two-wheeler segment, contributing to a vibrant festive market across India.
