Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) achieved a major milestone by crossing the cumulative production of 10 million two-wheelers in India on January 10, 2026. The 10 millionth unit—an Access Ride Connect Edition scooter—rolled off the assembly line at the company's state-of-the-art facility in Gurugram. This accomplishment marks two decades of Suzuki's operations in the country, which began in 2006, and highlights the brand's steady growth in one of the world's most competitive two-wheeler markets.
The journey to 10 million units reflects accelerating momentum in recent years. While the first 5 million units took 14 years to produce (until 2020), the next 5 million were manufactured in just six years, demonstrating improved manufacturing efficiency, rising consumer demand, and expanded production capabilities. The Access series has been the cornerstone of this success, with the Access 125 pioneering the 125 cc scooter segment in India and remaining the company's highest-selling model for years.
Suzuki has evolved from a scooter-focused brand to a diversified portfolio catering to varied customer preferences. Alongside the enduring Access lineup, the company offers the sporty Gixxer series, the adventure-oriented V-Strom SX, and high-performance models such as the Hayabusa and GSX-8R. This expansion has strengthened Suzuki's position across commuter, premium, and performance segments. Additionally, India has become a key export hub for the brand, with made-in-India two-wheelers now shipped to over 60 global markets.

In a significant step toward electrification, SMIPL simultaneously announced the opening of bookings for its first electric scooter, the e-Access. Priced at ₹1.88 lakh (ex-showroom), the e-Access represents Suzuki's entry into India's rapidly growing electric two-wheeler segment, where it will compete with established players such as TVS iQube, Ather Energy models, Simple Energy One, and others. The launch aligns with the industry's shift toward sustainable mobility and is expected to draw significant interest from eco-conscious buyers.
The 10 million production milestone, combined with the e-Access introduction, underscores Suzuki's long-term commitment to the Indian market. By balancing its legacy of reliable, user-friendly products with forward-looking electric mobility solutions, SMIPL continues to strengthen its presence in both domestic and international arenas.
