Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume, officially launched its operations in the United Kingdom on October 23, 2025, partnering with established distributor MotoGB to bring its Euro 5+-compliant lineup to British riders. The expansion marks the New Delhi-based company's strategic push into Europe's competitive motorcycle market, starting with the introduction of the Hunk 440 model in the A2 performance segment. Priced at 3,499 pounds (approximately ₹4.08 lakh) plus 200 pounds for on-the-road costs, the bike blends bold styling reminiscent of the Mavrick 440 with premium features tailored for urban and touring enthusiasts. Available in Twilight Blue, Phantom Black, and Titanium Grey, it comes backed by a two-year warranty, underscoring Hero's commitment to reliability in a new territory.
Developed in collaboration with Harley-Davidson, the Hunk 440 boasts a robust 440cc air-oil-cooled engine delivering 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, mated to a smooth five-speed gearbox. Its high-tensile steel trellis frame ensures agile handling, complemented by KYB USD cartridge forks up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Safety is prioritised with dual-channel ABS, 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes, and a feature-rich digital TFT display offering turn-by-turn navigation via Bluetooth connectivity. This powerhouse positions the Hunk 440 as a versatile cruiser capable of 0-100 km/h sprints while maintaining fuel efficiency, appealing to A2 licence holders seeking affordable performance without compromising on modern tech.
The UK rollout builds on Hero MotoCorp's recent European forays into Italy and Spain, expanding its global footprint to 51 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, where it serves over 125 million customers. This growth reflects the company's evolution from its 1984 joint venture with Honda to a standalone powerhouse exporting to diverse markets, adapting to stringent emissions standards like Euro 5+ to compete with established brands. In the UK, MotoGB—a family-owned Lancashire-based firm with over 40 years of expertise—will spearhead distribution from its Adlington headquarters, initially through 25 sales and service outlets, with plans to scale to 35 by 2026. This network aims to foster grassroots adoption, leveraging MotoGB's deep industry ties for seamless after-sales support.

Hero's European ambitions come at a time when the continent's two-wheeler sector is rebounding post-pandemic, with demand for mid-capacity bikes surging amid rising fuel costs and eco-conscious commuting trends. The Hunk 440's Harley-infused design and competitive pricing could challenge incumbents like Royal Enfield or Triumph in the entry-premium space, potentially capturing a slice of the 100,000-plus annual UK motorcycle sales. As Hero eyes further model introductions, this UK entry not only diversifies its revenue streams but also enhances brand prestige, proving Indian engineering's global mettle in an industry dominated by legacy players.
