Samsung has set the Indian smartphone market ablaze, racking up an astonishing 2.1 lakh pre-orders for its seventh-generation foldable smartphone series within just 48 hours of its July 9 launch. The Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE have sparked a tidal wave of excitement, nearly matching the pre-order numbers of the Galaxy S25 series, which hit 4.3 lakh in a three-week period earlier this year.
Priced between ₹89,000 and ₹2.11 lakh, these Made-in-India foldables are redefining premium smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold7, ranging from ₹1.75 lakh to ₹2.11 lakh, offers a powerhouse of immersive and intelligent features, while the Galaxy Z Flip7 (₹1.10 lakh to ₹1.22 lakh) and the budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (₹89,000 to ₹95,999) deliver sleek, intuitive designs that resonate with tech-savvy Indians.
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, hailed the response as proof of young India’s hunger for cutting-edge technology. “This record-breaking pre-order surge shows our foldables are capturing hearts and paving the way for these devices to go mainstream,” he said. The success underscores Samsung’s dominance in India’s super-premium segment, where it locks horns with Apple for the over-$1,000 market.
