Leipzig, Saxony, Germany — RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has dismissed speculation surrounding a potential summer transfer, insisting he remains fully committed to the Bundesliga club despite mounting interest from several European giants, including Liverpool F.C.. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, regarded as one of Europe’s fastest-rising attacking talents, said his focus remains on improving his game and helping Leipzig build on their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Speaking during a virtual media interaction, Diomande acknowledged the growing attention surrounding his future but emphasized that he is under contract with RB Leipzig until 2030. Reports in European media have linked the winger with a possible move to Liverpool, particularly amid uncertainty over the long-term future of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah. However, Diomande said the German club had supported him both professionally and personally since his arrival and that he remains grateful for the opportunity they provided. The teenager noted that Leipzig had taken a significant chance by signing him when he was still relatively unknown on the European stage.
The winger also addressed the pressures that come with rapid success and increasing public scrutiny. Diomande said criticism and praise are both part of professional football and stressed the importance of maintaining consistency regardless of external noise. According to the young attacker, his approach is centered on continuous improvement, learning from difficult performances, and remaining focused on the next challenge rather than dwelling on setbacks or transfer speculation. He added that his ambition is to become one of the best footballers in the world, though he intends to progress “step by step.”

Diomande credited several global stars for influencing his development, naming Cristiano Ronaldo as his primary football idol. He also highlighted admiration for Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazário, as well as modern attacking stars Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé. Diomande said he studies players with similar attacking styles in an effort to refine his own game and raise his standards at the highest level of European football.
The youngster’s rise has been remarkably swift. After joining the DME Academy in the United States in 2022, Diomande later signed for Spanish side CD Leganés before catching the attention of Leipzig scouts in 2025. Since arriving in Germany, he has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young forwards. His performances have also earned him opportunities with the Ivory Coast national team, including participation in the Africa Cup of Nations and a likely appearance at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Despite the growing transfer rumours and expectations surrounding his future, Diomande maintained that he remains grounded and focused solely on football. He said having a reliable support system around him allows him to ignore distractions and concentrate on performances on the pitch. Reflecting on a breakthrough season that included Champions League qualification and international recognition, the winger said he had not expected success to arrive so quickly but remains determined to establish himself among the top players in both Africa and Europe.
