Former India Captain MS Dhoni drew attention during the third T20I between India and England at Trent Bridge after a video showed him interacting with fans through gestures. The 45-year-old, who recently celebrated his birthday, appeared to jokingly suggest that he had grown old, his beard had turned grey and he could barely walk, according to a social media user who attempted to decode the interaction.
Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020 but has remained associated with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. However, he did not play a single match during the 2026 IPL season. His appearance at Trent Bridge quickly attracted attention from fans, with videos of the former India captain circulating widely on social media as users attempted to interpret his gestures.
Dhoni made his international debut in 2004 and went on to become one of India’s most successful captains. He led the national team to victory in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Across formats, he scored 17,266 international runs, completed 829 dismissals and represented India in 538 matches.
