Royal Challengers Bengaluru spinner Shreyanka Patil dedicated the franchise’s second Women’s Premier League (WPL) title to captain Smriti Mandhana, acknowledging the personal challenges the Indian batter has faced in recent months.
RCB clinched the WPL 2026 title after chasing down a daunting target of 204 in the final, with Mandhana leading from the front with a match-winning 87 off 43 balls. The victory marked RCB’s second WPL triumph and capped a remarkable comeback period for the 29-year-old captain.
Speaking after the final, Shreyanka Patil highlighted Mandhana’s resilience during a difficult phase in her life. “Would love to mention three people—number one, Smriti, because she has gone through a lot in the last couple of months. I would love to dedicate this win to her,” Patil said during a broadcast interaction.

The past few months have been emotionally challenging for Mandhana. After helping India win the Women’s ODI World Cup in November 2025, her personal life came under public scrutiny when her wedding to Palash Muchhal was postponed following her father’s illness. Mandhana later confirmed that the wedding had been called off, requesting privacy amid widespread speculation on social media.
Responding with performances on the field, Mandhana finished WPL 2026 as the tournament’s highest run-scorer, earning the Orange Cap. Her decisive knock in the final underlined her leadership and form throughout the season.
After lifting the trophy, Mandhana thanked RCB fans for their unwavering support.
“This one’s for you guys,” she said, echoing the franchise’s iconic chant: “Ee sala cup namdu 2.” RCB topped the league stage standings before defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, sealing another historic title for the Bengaluru-based franchise.
