Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala is set to make his long-awaited return after a six-month injury layoff, coach Vincent Kompany confirmed ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig. Musiala, 22, had been sidelined since breaking his leg against Paris Saint-Germain during the Club World Cup in July.
Speaking on Friday, Kompany stated that Musiala would be included in the matchday squad “if everything goes well in training today”, indicating cautious optimism. The young midfielder resumed team training in December and has been steadily building fitness to return to competitive action.
Bayern could also see the return of other key players, including Germany captain Joshua Kimmich and Canada captain Alphonso Davies, both recovering from injuries. Their reintegration would provide a significant boost to a squad that is unbeaten midway through the Bundesliga season.

Since joining Bayern in 2019 from Chelsea’s youth academy, Musiala has made a remarkable impact, scoring 64 goals and providing 39 assists in 207 appearances. He has been instrumental in Bayern’s dominance, helping the club secure five Bundesliga titles and a Champions League trophy.
Musiala recently extended his contract with Bayern until 2030, signaling the club’s long-term plans around the young star. His return is expected to add creativity, pace, and attacking threat as Bayern aim to maintain their stronghold atop the Bundesliga table.
With half the season completed, Bayern hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund, matching the best points gap in Bundesliga history at this stage. Musiala’s comeback could prove decisive in their quest to continue their unbeaten run and extend domestic supremacy.
