India Under-19 delivered a dominant all-round performance against hosts Zimbabwe Under-19 in their ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 Super 6 clash, riding on a commanding century by Vihaan Malhotra and a fiery opening spell by their pace attack on Tuesday.
Batting first, India U19 posted an imposing total of 352 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Vihaan Malhotra anchored the innings with a composed 109 off 107 balls, striking seven boundaries and displaying maturity beyond his years. Malhotra, who has been picked up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for IPL 2026, ensured India maintained stability through the middle overs after a rapid start.
The early momentum was provided by 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who set the tone with a blistering 52 off just 30 deliveries. Wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu added crucial substance with a fluent 61, while lower-order contributions, including a 12-ball 30 from Khilan Patel, powered India past the 350-run mark and left Zimbabwe facing a daunting chase.

In response, India’s pacers wasted no time in asserting dominance. Pacer RS Ambrish struck in the very first over to remove an early Zimbabwe batter, immediately putting the hosts on the back foot. Henil Patel followed up with another breakthrough soon after, tightening India’s grip on the contest during the powerplay.
At the end of four overs, Zimbabwe U19 were struggling at 16 for 2, chasing a steep target of 353. With early wickets in hand and disciplined bowling on display, India U19 seized control of the match, underlining their strong intent as they began their Super 6 campaign in emphatic fashion.
