Canada Super 60 has successfully completed its Season 2 Player Draft, assembling six franchise squads featuring several international cricket stars and leading Canadian players ahead of the league’s return in September 2026. The second edition of Canada’s premier T10 cricket league will be played at BC Place in Vancouver from September 29 to October 4. The completion of the draft marks a major milestone in the build-up to the tournament, according to a press release issued by the organisers. After a successful inaugural season, Canada Super 60 is returning with an expanded format, six city-based franchises and a stronger player pool featuring experienced international names.
The six teams participating in Season 2 are Vancouver Anchors, Whiterock Warriors, Brampton Blitz, Toronto Sixers, Mississauga Masters and Montreal Royal Tigers. These franchises will represent different cities and regions as the league looks to strengthen the presence of professional T10 cricket in Canada. The Season 2 Player Draft brought together a combination of established international cricketers, proven match-winners and emerging Canadian talent. The organisers said the squads represent one of the strongest collections of players assembled for a cricket league in the country.
Among the major international names associated with the draft were West Indies stars Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell, New Zealand batter Colin Munro and Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. England’s Jonny Bairstow was also among the headline names, joining other pre-signed players including Sam Billings, Chris Lynn and Chris Jordan. The presence of internationally recognised players is expected to increase attention around the tournament as Canada continues to develop its cricketing landscape. Many of the players involved have experience in major global leagues, including franchise competitions across different countries, bringing valuable expertise to the teams.

Canada Super 60 follows the growing global popularity of shorter cricket formats, particularly T10 cricket, which focuses on quick matches, aggressive batting and high-intensity action. The format has attracted audiences by offering a shorter alternative to traditional cricket while maintaining competitive elements of the sport. The league is also expected to provide opportunities for Canadian cricketers to compete alongside established international players. Organisers have highlighted the importance of combining global experience with local talent to help improve the standard and visibility of cricket in the country.
The choice of BC Place in Vancouver as the venue adds further significance to the tournament. The stadium is among Canada’s most recognised sporting venues and has hosted major international sporting events. Hosting the league there reflects the organisers’ efforts to present cricket in a larger sporting environment. Canada has witnessed increasing interest in cricket due to a growing multicultural population and greater participation at grassroots levels. The country’s qualification for major international competitions has also contributed to rising awareness of the sport among local audiences.
The completion of the draft allows franchises to begin final preparations ahead of the tournament. Teams will now focus on building combinations, planning strategies and preparing players for the unique demands of the T10 format. With six teams and a lineup featuring several global cricket stars, Canada Super 60 Season 2 aims to build on the foundation created during its first edition. The tournament will look to further establish itself as a major cricket event in North America while providing a platform for both international and Canadian players.
