The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to renew the contracts of assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T. Dilip following the conclusion of India's tour of the United Kingdom. The decision comes after a review of the men's team's recent performances, which included T20I series defeats in Ireland and England, along with the loss of an ODI series, prompting changes within the national team's support staff.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that both coaches had completed their contractual terms. Ryan ten Doeschate's two-year contract ended on June 10, while T. Dilip's contract expired on June 8 after he had previously received a one-year extension beyond his original tenure. Although the duo continued with the team until the completion of the United Kingdom tour, the board has decided against granting any further extensions.

Clarifying speculation surrounding their departures, Saikia said there was no question of resignations being accepted, as both contracts had naturally expired. He added that the BCCI had merely retained the coaches through the end of the overseas assignment to ensure continuity before making a final decision on the support staff. The board is now in the process of identifying replacements, particularly for the fielding coach's role.

Responding to reports linking Subhodeep Ghosh with the vacant position, Saikia said the BCCI is currently evaluating two or three candidates before making a final appointment. Ghosh, who has been associated with the National Cricket Academy for several years and worked during Rahul Dravid's tenure, is reportedly among the leading contenders for the role, though no official decision has been announced.

According to reports, Ryan ten Doeschate had intended to leave after reportedly not receiving the clearly defined responsibilities he had expected upon joining the coaching staff. Meanwhile, T. Dilip's previous extension was said to have been granted ahead of the 2025 England Test series, but reports suggested that concerns over the team's fielding standards and recent performances made another extension unlikely. The BCCI is expected to announce the new fielding coach after completing its ongoing selection process as it looks to strengthen the support staff ahead of upcoming international assignments.
