A chilling murder unfolded in Ghaziabad's Raj Nagar Extension when a 32-year-old school teacher, who owned multiple flats in the Aura Chimera high-rise society, was found dead late on December 17, 2025, her body concealed inside a large red bag within the fifth-floor apartment she had rented out to a couple several months earlier.
The victim had left her own residence on the first floor of the same complex that evening specifically to collect several months of pending rent—totaling arrears on the ₹18,000 monthly agreement—from her tenants, marking what appeared to be a routine landlord-tenant interaction that tragically escalated into fatal violence.
Concern mounted when the woman failed to return home as expected, leading her domestic help to grow suspicious and proceed to the rented flat; upon knocking and receiving what were described as evasive and inconsistent responses from the occupants, the helper alerted neighbouring residents, who in turn summoned police assistance around 11:15 pm.

Officers from the local station arrived promptly and, during initial questioning of the tenant couple—identified as Ajay Gupta, approximately 30-35 years old and employed as a transporter, along with his wife Akriti Gupta of similar age—discovered the victim's body hidden in the bag, prompting immediate detention of the suspects for intensive interrogation.
Preliminary forensic observations suggest the cause of death involved strangulation combined with a blunt force head injury inflicted by a pressure cooker found at the scene, while authorities have explicitly refuted circulating social media rumours of dismemberment, confirming the body remained intact; a formal First Information Report is imminent upon receipt of the family's complaint as the investigation progresses under close supervision by senior officials.
