Actor-politician Vijay on Monday shared his first social media post after news emerged that his wife, Sangeetha, had filed for divorce at the district court in Chengalpattu. The development has drawn widespread attention, particularly after reports claimed she cited an alleged extramarital relationship in her plea seeking dissolution of their marriage. Despite the growing speculation, Vijay did not address the controversy in his public message.

Instead, the founding president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chose to post a message extending wishes to students appearing for their Class 12 public examinations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on March 2, he wrote in Tamil, offering “heartfelt greetings” to students sitting for the crucial board exams. His post focused on encouragement and motivation, steering clear of any reference to his personal life.

The actor’s message to students emphasised confidence and perseverance, concluding with a line that translates to “Victory is certain". Supporters quickly amplified the post online, with many interpreting it as a reaffirmation of resolve amid personal turbulence. However, Vijay himself has not issued any direct clarification or comment regarding the divorce proceedings or the allegations mentioned in court filings.

Reports earlier stated that Sangeetha had approached the Chengalpattu district court seeking legal separation, claiming betrayal and citing an alleged extramarital relationship. Vijay, one of Tamil cinema’s most prominent stars, formally launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, in 2024, marking a significant shift from films to active politics.
