Actor-turned-politician Vijay has declared total assets worth ₹603.20 crore in his election affidavit, filed ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The affidavit reveals that Vijay earned ₹184.53 crore in the previous financial year and holds bank deposits exceeding ₹213 crore across multiple accounts.
Vijay, who is contesting from the Perambur constituency, recently announced his decision to seek a mandate from both Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. His nomination marks a significant step in his political journey as he transitions from cinema into active electoral politics.
The affidavit also details his luxury assets, which include high-end cars such as the BMW 530, Toyota Lexus, Toyota Vellfire, and BMW i7. These vehicles form part of his declared movable assets, reflecting his substantial financial standing.

His wife, Sangeetha Vijay, has separately declared assets worth ₹15.76 crore. This includes movable property valued at ₹15.51 crore and immovable property worth ₹25 lakh. The affidavit also notes that Vijay has extended loans amounting to ₹12.6 crore to her.
The disclosures come amid personal developments, with reports indicating that Sangeetha recently filed for divorce, citing allegations of an extramarital relationship involving Vijay. However, the focus of the affidavit remains on financial transparency, which is a mandatory requirement for candidates contesting elections in India.
Vijay’s entry into the political arena and his substantial asset declaration have drawn significant public and political attention, especially as Tamil Nadu gears up for a crucial electoral battle.
