Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Gaya on Saturday to attend a two-day orientation and training programme for members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The programme, being organised after the formation of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly, aims to familiarise legislators with parliamentary procedures, legislative responsibilities and effective participation in House proceedings.
On his arrival in Gaya, the Vice President was welcomed by senior dignitaries, including Bihar Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Prem Kumar and other senior leaders. Radhakrishnan expressed his gratitude for the reception and thanked the state leadership and officials for the warm welcome extended to him.
The two-day training programme is being held on July 11 and 12 at the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) campus in Gaya. All members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly are expected to take part in the orientation session, which is designed to help both newly elected and returning legislators understand legislative practices and the functioning of the Assembly.

The programme will focus on key aspects of parliamentary conduct, including Assembly rules, legislative processes, responsibilities of elected representatives and methods for meaningful participation in debates and discussions. Officials said the initiative is aimed at strengthening the overall functioning of the state legislature by improving legislators' understanding of constitutional and parliamentary practices.
The Gaya district administration has made extensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event. Authorities have deployed additional security personnel, prepared traffic management plans, strengthened law and order measures and established a temporary police station near the BIPARD campus for emergency response. Gaya City DSP Dharmendra Bharti also inspected the venue and reviewed security arrangements, VIP movement plans and coordination between various government departments ahead of the programme.
