Tragedy struck Haryana’s Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway on Sunday morning when a multi-vehicle collision involving five vehicles left two people charred to death. The accident occurred between Sabras and Gudhi villages under Mohammadpur Ahir police limits, causing massive traffic disruption.
According to DSP Abhimanyu Lohan, the pile-up was triggered when two trailers suddenly applied brakes in the middle of the expressway. Three trucks, including a container truck, collided into the trailers from behind, resulting in a catastrophic impact that set the trailers, laden with mining materials, ablaze.
Two individuals, including one driver, were trapped inside the cabin of one of the trailers and were burnt alive. Locals and first responders described a scene of chaos, with flames and wreckage blocking multiple lanes and creating panic among commuters.

Cranes and rescue teams were deployed to clear the wreckage, restore traffic, and investigate the cause of the accident. DSP Lohan urged commuters to exercise caution, noting that the collision had caused significant delays and highlighted safety concerns on the expressway.
The incident has raised questions about road safety and the behavior of heavy vehicle drivers on high-speed expressways, prompting local authorities to review preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
