At least seven passengers were killed and several others were injured after a passenger bus caught fire in southern Vietnam early on Tuesday while travelling from Lam Dong province to Ho Chi Minh City, authorities said. The incident occurred when the 24-seat bus was en route to the country's largest commercial hub before flames rapidly engulfed the vehicle, trapping several passengers inside. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, while police began an investigation into the cause of the fire.

According to a statement issued by Vietnam's police-led Ministry of Public Security, the bus caught fire during its journey from Lam Dong province to Ho Chi Minh City.
