In a tragic incident in Bundi, Rajasthan, the body of 48-year-old trader Harish Khandelwal was recovered from the Mej river early on September 18, 2025, following a fatal accident. The incident occurred around 7:15 PM on Wednesday when Khandelwal’s SUV plunged into the river while crossing a bridge notorious for its lack of safety features.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Subash Sharma, the bridge lacked railings on both sides and was poorly lit, causing Khandelwal to misjudge its boundaries, leading to the vehicle’s plunge into the water. The SUV was located in approximately 20 feet of water around 2:00 AM and was retrieved with the assistance of a crane by 3:00 AM. Khandelwal, a resident of Siswali town in Baran district, was found deceased, and his body was handed over to his family after a postmortem.
