Tesla, the American electric vehicle giant, announced plans to significantly expand its supercharging network across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, aligning with its upcoming vehicle deliveries in India by September, according to Tesla Regional Director for South East Asia, Isabel Fan. The announcement was made during the opening of Tesla’s second experience centre in India at Aerocity, New Delhi, following the launch of its first centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex in July 2025.
Fan detailed that Delhi-NCR will see new supercharging stations in Gurugram, Noida, and Saket, with the Gurugram facility set to open within weeks, followed by Saket and Noida. In Mumbai, Tesla plans to establish additional stations in Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, complementing the existing supercharger at Bandra Kurla Complex. Bengaluru is also a priority, with Fan emphasizing, “We cannot miss Bangalore very soon,” signaling imminent expansion into the tech hub.
The expansion coincides with the launch of Tesla’s Model Y in India, priced from ₹59.89 lakh, which has already garnered significant interest. Fan underscored Tesla’s commitment to a robust ecosystem, stating, “We don’t commit to five-year plans we cannot deliver.” Beyond charging infrastructure, Tesla will introduce mobile service units, remote diagnostics, a service centre, and a Tesla Approved Collision Centre to support Indian customers.
