Techno Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL), has launched a 36 MW AI-ready hyperscale data centre at SIPCOT IT Park, Siruseri, Chennai, with a committed investment of USD 175 million (approximately Rs 1,535 crore). This facility marks a significant step in Techno Digital’s USD 1 billion national plan to develop sustainable, scalable, and AI-optimized digital infrastructure across India.
Spanning 200,000 square feet, the Chennai data centre supports 2,400 high-density racks with flexible power densities from 10 kW to 50 kW per rack. Strategically located in Chennai’s IT corridor, it offers robust connectivity to multiple cable landing stations and domestic networks, ensuring resilience against climate risks. The facility features a 110 kV GIS substation with dual power feeds via underground cables, advanced UPS systems, and a cooling architecture with centrifugal water-cooled chillers and adiabatic towers for energy efficiency.
“Modern enterprises need hyper-availability, scalability, and sustainability. Our Chennai facility, complemented by interconnected edge data centres, positions us to lead India’s digital transformation with AI-driven solutions,” said Techno Digital President Amit Agrawal. Launched in May 2025, Techno Digital aims to build a 250 MW network of hyperscale and edge data centres, with additional sites planned in Kolkata and Noida. This initiative underscores India’s growing role as a global hub for AI and cloud infrastructure, supporting digital-native businesses with secure, eco-friendly technology.
