Tamil Nadu is poised to dominate the global deep-tech scene with the launch of a cutting-edge Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre at Anna University’s College of Engineering, inaugurated by IT and Digital Services Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Sunday.
This state-of-the-art facility, backed by the Tamil Nadu Innovation Initiatives, is set to revolutionize the tech landscape by connecting academic researchers with startups and industries. The Tamil Nadu Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre (TNTTFC) will streamline the commercialization of groundbreaking innovations in fields like AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, and clean energy.
“Tamil Nadu is now a global contender in deep-tech innovation,” declared Minister Thiaga Rajan. “This centre will break down barriers, from regulatory hurdles to fragmented networks, paving the way for world-class advancements.”

The TNTTFC will serve as a powerhouse for intellectual property management, licensing, and market analysis, fostering seamless collaboration between researchers and industry leaders. State Planning Commission Executive Vice Chairman J Jeyaranjan emphasized its role in empowering startups and MSMEs through funding, mentorship, and training programs designed to scale cutting-edge technologies.
“This is a game-changer for Tamil Nadu’s innovation ecosystem,” said iTNT CEO Vanitha Venugopal. “The centre will drive joint projects, research, and consulting to meet industry demands while pushing the boundaries of scientific discovery.”
