A month after the passing of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar, tributes continue to flow from his family and party colleagues, highlighting his enduring legacy of public service and development-oriented politics.
Sunetra Pawar, who recently assumed the role of NCP Chief and serves as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, expressed that while the pain of his absence remains profound, Ajit Pawar’s vision and work ethic will continue to guide the party and its members. In a heartfelt social media post, she described her late husband as a compassionate leader dedicated to the welfare of the public.
“A man of heart and soul. A deep sense of humanity, an unceasing sincere urge to work, and an untiring attitude to strive for society — this was the true personality of Ajit Dada. His firm stand on using power for public welfare, the path of development built through his vision, and the immense trust of the people earned through his work were the true world of his life’s mission,” she wrote. She added that his promptness and decisiveness would continue to inspire the NCP family.

Ajit Pawar’s son, Jay Pawar, expressed his grief, describing the void left by his father as omnipresent. “It has been a month since you left us. I still cannot believe it. I am still speechless,” he said. Similarly, NCP legislator and nephew Rohit Pawar recalled the moment he realized his uncle was gone, describing it as a “bad dream” that still feels surreal.
Another nephew, Yugendra Pawar, shared an emotional tribute reflecting both grief and a commitment to continue Ajit Pawar’s political and social work. He noted that questions about the circumstances of his uncle’s accident remain, and the ongoing Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Budget Session feels incomplete without Ajit Pawar’s commanding presence. “Your path will be our path. Your dream will be our goal. Your void can never be filled,” he said.
NCP working president and cousin Supriya Sule also paid tribute, saying the void left by Ajit Pawar is irreplaceable. Party workers across Maharashtra reaffirm that his focus on grassroots engagement and development-oriented governance will remain central to the party’s vision. Ajit Pawar’s life and work continue to inspire both his family and political colleagues as they navigate the challenges ahead.
