Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have escalated anti-terror operations following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, neutralizing six hardcore terrorists in two meticulously coordinated operations in south Kashmir over the past three days, officials announced Friday.
Speaking at a press conference, Major General Dhananjay Joshi, GOC Victor Force, detailed the operations in Kellar, Shopian, and Tral, Pulwama. “The CRPF, Indian Army, and J&K Police worked in seamless coordination to eliminate six terrorists, including three Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives in Kellar and three Hizbul Mujahideen members in Tral,” Joshi said. The Kellar operation, dubbed ‘Operation Keller,’ recovered significant arms, while Tral’s ‘Operation Nader’ targeted a local commander.
The intensified crackdown follows intelligence inputs about 14 active terrorists across Srinagar, Shopian, and Pulwama, with forces leveraging precise data to dismantle terror networks. The operations underscore the security forces’ resolve to restore peace amid heightened tensions, with officials crediting inter-agency synergy for the success.
