Police in Maharashtra’s Thane district have successfully traced and rescued seven children reported missing from Ulhasnagar, an official confirmed on Monday. The children, missing from areas under the jurisdiction of the Hill Line police station, were located as part of a focused effort to resolve pending kidnapping cases, marking a significant breakthrough in ongoing investigations.
To address the cases, the Thane police formed dedicated investigation squads tasked with reviewing and acting on unresolved reports. These teams conducted extensive operations, traveling to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and West Bengal to follow leads and gather background details on the missing children. "Through sustained efforts, our squads successfully traced and rescued children in seven out of 12 pending cases," said Senior Inspector Sailesh Salvi, highlighting the operation’s success.
The rescues underscore the police’s commitment to tackling missing persons cases through coordinated, multi-state efforts. The operations involved meticulous analysis of leads, enabling the teams to locate the children and ensure their safe return. Authorities have not disclosed specific details about the circumstances of the disappearances or rescues, citing the sensitivity of the cases and the need to protect the children involved.
