Russian strikes across multiple regions of Ukraine have killed at least three civilians and injured several others, according to regional authorities, amid a continuing escalation in aerial attacks between Moscow and Kyiv. The latest incidents come as US-led diplomatic efforts to end the war, now in its fifth year, remain stalled.
In the southern city of Kherson, a 75-year-old man was killed in a Russian drone strike on Thursday evening, according to Yaroslav Shanko, head of the city’s military administration. Authorities reported that the attack targeted civilian areas as drone activity intensified in the region.
In a separate incident in Zaporizhzhia, a woman was killed and 16 others were injured in a drone strike, emergency services confirmed. Officials said emergency teams were deployed immediately to assist the wounded and assess damage caused by the attack.

Further east in the Pavlograd district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha said a woman was killed in a combined drone and artillery strike. Authorities reported ongoing damage assessments as rescue operations continued in affected areas.
In northeastern Ukraine’s Konotop city, local officials reported that three children were injured during Russian strikes, highlighting the continued impact of the conflict on civilian populations. Mayor Artem Semenikhin confirmed the injuries in a statement shared on social media.
Meanwhile, both Russia and Ukraine reported large-scale drone activity overnight. Russia’s defence ministry said it intercepted and destroyed 123 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, while Ukraine’s air force claimed it shot down 198 Russian drones. The exchange underscores the intensifying aerial warfare as the conflict continues with no immediate breakthrough in peace negotiations.
