Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), gave a brief but pointed response on Saturday when asked about the controversy surrounding alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Responding to reporters' questions in Nagpur, Bhagwat simply said, "Ram-Ram," before moving on, declining to elaborate on the issue.
The remarks came after journalists sought his reaction to allegations that some individuals were attempting to undermine devotees' faith in Lord Ram amid the ongoing controversy over the handling of temple donations. Rather than commenting directly on the allegations or the investigation, the RSS chief limited his response to the traditional greeting, which was widely interpreted as a measured refusal to engage in the political debate surrounding the issue.
The controversy has gained significant attention following allegations of financial irregularities involving donations collected for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The claims have prompted investigations and intensified political exchanges, with opposition parties demanding accountability while supporters of the temple trust have urged that the inquiry be allowed to proceed without speculation. Authorities are currently examining the allegations, and no final conclusions have been announced.

Bhagwat's restrained response comes at a time when the issue has generated widespread public discussion, particularly among devotees and political observers. As the ideological head of the RSS, his comments are often closely watched for indications of the organisation's position on matters concerning the Ram temple and related issues. However, by limiting his response to "Ram-Ram," Bhagwat avoided making any direct remarks on the allegations or the ongoing investigations.
The Ram temple in Ayodhya remains one of India's most significant religious and cultural landmarks, attracting millions of devotees since its consecration. Allegations relating to the management of donations have therefore drawn considerable attention, with calls for transparency and accountability. While investigations continue, officials have urged the public to avoid drawing conclusions until the inquiry is completed, and Bhagwat's brief response has added another notable moment to the evolving controversy.
