Tragedy also struck neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, where a newlywed woman, Rama Himaji (27), died in a car accident on NAD Flyover in Visakhapatnam after a tyre burst. Her husband, MVV Vinish, a software engineer, was injured. The couple had recently married three months ago and were returning from offering prayers at the Satyanarayana Swamy temple in Annavaram.
These incidents underscore growing concerns over road safety during festival travel in India, particularly regarding speeding, alcohol consumption, and vehicle maintenance. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent further loss of life during festive seasons.
