The Delhi government on Wednesday launched the “Hauslon Ki Udaan” Talent Hunt scheme, an initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing hidden talent among the city’s youth, with officials expecting participation from more than 25,000 young people across the national capital.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta formally launched the programme, describing it as a platform designed to help young individuals develop their skills and emerge as future leaders and contributors to society. The campaign will be conducted across all 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi and is intended to provide opportunities to talented youth from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
Under the scheme, participants will compete in multiple categories, including singing, dance, theatre, instrumental music, fine arts and digital art. Government officials said the competitions would help identify promising talent, after which selected participants would receive support and guidance under the state-sponsored programme aimed at shaping their creative careers.

Speaking at the launch event, Rekha Gupta said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering youth through creativity, skill development and cultural participation. She added that the administration wants young people in Delhi to build a distinct identity through their talent, hard work and innovation.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, who oversees the Arts and Culture portfolio, said the programme seeks to discover talented individuals living in slums, colonies and underprivileged neighbourhoods and provide them with a platform to achieve recognition at national and international levels. He stated that the government intends to support participants with resources and opportunities that can help them pursue long-term success.
As part of the initiative, the Delhi government will also launch an online registration portal for individuals aged between 16 and 35 years. Officials said the digital platform would streamline participation and allow youth from across the city to enrol in the talent hunt programme.
The “Hauslon Ki Udaan” scheme forms part of broader efforts by the Delhi government to expand youth engagement programmes and encourage artistic and cultural participation. Authorities believe the initiative could help uncover emerging talent while also creating new opportunities for social mobility and public recognition among aspiring young artists and performers.
