With the Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaign entering its final phase, national political leaders have intensified their outreach across the state, turning key constituencies into high-stakes battlegrounds. High-profile visits and public engagements are being seen as crucial efforts by parties to consolidate voter support ahead of polling day.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is scheduled to campaign in Coimbatore North on Wednesday in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Vanathi Srinivasan. Her visit will include roadshows and direct voter outreach across several localities, including Venkittapuram, Chinnammal Nagar, KK Pudur, and areas around Avila School. Party leaders believe her presence will energise cadre and strengthen the BJP’s appeal among urban and middle-class voters.
Vanathi Srinivasan, who currently serves as a BJP MLA from Coimbatore South and is also the party’s Mahila Morcha national president, has been actively campaigning on issues such as local development and governance. The contest in Coimbatore North is being closely watched, with political observers noting a competitive race among major parties.
