Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday visited the Kali Temple in CR Park along with BJP leaders to offer prayers, as the party celebrated its reported electoral victory in West Bengal. The visit came amid a series of political events marking what BJP leaders described as a “historic mandate” in the eastern state.
After performing prayers at the temple, Rekha Gupta said the result reflected a major shift in Indian politics and public sentiment. She credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the saffron party’s influence is expanding across regions, which she symbolically described as extending “from Gangotri to Gangasagar.” She added that voters have increasingly supported governance based on development and national interest.
The Chief Minister also referred to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, asserting that women in West Bengal had delivered a strong message through their voting pattern. She claimed that voters, particularly women, had rejected politics driven by fear, violence, and appeasement, and instead chosen a governance model centred on safety, dignity, and empowerment.

Gupta further stated that the election outcome reflected the growing participation of women in shaping political outcomes in the state. She said women voters had played a decisive role in strengthening democratic processes despite what she described as challenging conditions. According to her, the mandate showed increased confidence in policies aimed at women’s welfare and empowerment under the current central leadership.
The Chief Minister also paid tribute to BJP workers, saying the result was the outcome of years of organisational effort and sacrifice. She described the victory as a reaffirmation of public trust in democratic institutions and governance-oriented politics. Several senior BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, and MLA Shikha Rai, were present during the temple visit.
The celebration event highlighted the party’s focus on women-centric messaging and development-driven politics, with leaders asserting that the West Bengal outcome represents a broader national trend. The gathering concluded with prayers and political statements framing the victory as a significant milestone in the BJP’s ongoing electoral expansion.
