In a chilling incident that has shaken Telangana, 50-year-old real estate businessman Ghanta Venkataratnam was brutally stabbed to death on Monday morning directly outside Foster Billabong High International School in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The father had just dropped his child at the school gate and was preparing to leave on his scooter when six men launched a meticulously planned and ferocious attack in broad daylight.
The assailants executed the killing with terrifying efficiency: two arrived on a motorcycle while four others jumped out of a nearby autorickshaw, instantly surrounding the victim and blocking all escape routes. Within moments, the group drew long knives and began stabbing Venkataratnam repeatedly, targeting his stomach, back, neck, and chest in a frenzied assault that lasted less than a minute.
CCTV cameras positioned around the school recorded the entire gruesome sequence in stark detail. Despite the attack unfolding on a busy road during peak drop-off hours, with parents, school staff, and vehicles clearly visible, no one stepped forward to help. Several motorists slowed down, witnessed the horror, then drove away, leaving the businessman to bleed out on the pavement.

Ghanta Venkataratnam was pronounced dead at the scene. Forensic teams recovered one blood-soaked knife abandoned near the body. The six attackers fled immediately after the murder, vanishing before police arrived. Investigators believe the killing was targeted, possibly stemming from business disputes or personal enmity.
Police have registered a case of murder and formed multiple teams to identify and apprehend the suspects using the clear CCTV footage. The incident has sparked outrage over public apathy and raised urgent concerns about safety outside schools, prompting authorities to promise stricter security measures in the area.
