Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on the auspicious occasions of Milad-un-Nabi and Teachers’ Day, celebrated concurrently on September 5. Milad-un-Nabi, also referred to as Eid-e-Milad or Mawlid al-Nabi al-Sharif, marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and is a significant day for Muslims worldwide. This year, it aligns with Teachers’ Day, observed annually in India to honour the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s second president and a distinguished scholar, philosopher, and educator whose contributions to education continue to inspire generations.
In a heartfelt message shared on X, PM Modi extended his best wishes for Milad-un-Nabi, emphasising its spiritual and societal significance. “On the sacred occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, I extend my warmest greetings to all. May this holy day usher in peace, unity, and well-being across our society. Let the timeless values of compassion, service, and justice, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad, continue to guide us in fostering harmony and goodwill. Eid Mubarak!” he wrote.
Addressing the importance of Teachers’ Day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the relentless dedication of educators across the nation. In another post on X, he stated, “Wishing everyone, especially our hard-working teachers, a very happy #TeachersDay! Teachers are the cornerstone of a brighter, stronger future, nurturing young minds with knowledge, values, and inspiration. Their commitment, compassion, and tireless efforts shape the leaders of tomorrow. On this day, we also commemorate the life and legacy of Dr S. Radhakrishnan, a remarkable scholar, teacher, and visionary, whose contributions to education remain unparalleled.”
