Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state BJP leaders and all party MLAs from Haryana in New Delhi on Saturday. The meeting is expected to take place in the evening and is likely to cover political and organisational matters concerning Haryana and neighbouring states. BJP state president Archana Gupta is also expected to attend the meeting.
According to sources, discussions are likely to include preparations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections and the political situation in the neighbouring state. The BJP has been increasing its organisational and political activity in Punjab, where issues including drug-related concerns, law and order and security have featured prominently in the party's campaign. The meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for the central leadership to assess the party's preparations.
The BJP leaders are also likely to discuss the Opposition's campaign against the Election Commission of India over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Opposition parties have alleged irregularities in the revision process and have stepped up demands for accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The BJP leadership is expected to discuss the political response to these allegations and the manner in which its state units should address the issue.

The meeting comes amid continuing protests by Opposition parties over the SIR exercise. On Friday, AAP leaders and workers detained during a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi were taken to Fatehpur Beri Police Station, where they reiterated their demand for the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. The Opposition's allegations have intensified following a media report about differences among members of the poll panel, though the Election Commission has maintained that discussions and objections during the decision-making process are part of its institutional functioning.
The Haryana meeting also comes after a recent organisational change within the BJP. Former Union Minister Smriti Irani has been appointed as the party's Haryana in-charge, replacing Satish Poonia. Her appointment comes as the BJP continues to strengthen its organisational structure in the state and coordinate its political activities across the region. The discussions with the Prime Minister are expected to cover feedback from Haryana legislators and preparations for upcoming political and electoral challenges.
